Christmas storms and sunshine is a short novel written by Elizabeth Gaskell in 1848.The main
characters of this story are Mr. and Mrs. Hodgson, and Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins. Mr. Hodgson works
for The Examiner, a democratic and intelligent newspaper, and Mr. Jenkins works for The Flying
post, a respectable and bigoted newspaper. These two families live in the same apartment
building as each other, and they do not get along. It is Christmas Eve, and the wives are preparing
for dinner the next day. In the town of no matter where there circulated two local newspapers no
matter when. Now the Flying Post was long established and respectable alias bigoted and Tory;
the Examiner was spirited and intelligent alias new fangled and democratic. Every week these
newspapers contained articles abusing each other; as cross and peppery as articles could be, and
evidently the production of irritated minds, although they seemed to have one stereotyped
commencement. Mr Jenkins have his wife and also mr hodgson . but the Jenkins are happy
because they had a cat called pussy and the hodgson , Mary hodgson have a beautiful little baby.
Both families live in the same building , in Britain . the plot start when the cat start make disaster
for example steal milk and food , specially the things of the hogdson , one day make a disaster in
the holdhouse of the hogdson apartament , and eat the special food of the hogdson that was for
Christmas dinner . mary hogdson get angry about this situation and beat the cat pussy and start
fight with mrs Jenkins about this situation and generate problems , later mary get nervous and feel
sad , because her baby start cry , and he notice that the cry was different , this different cry was
because the baby get an ill , that is a sickness . mrs Jenkins know about this situation and She put
herself in Mary's shoes, reconsidered and started working and thinking how to help Mary with the
care of the baby and everything that she needs . he two families began to think that we all went
through difficult situations and sometimes even worse than those, and that is when they settle
their differences and reconcile to have a Christmas dinner together on Christmas night Christmas
day comes, happy sharing their food, get more friends and closer. and so ends the story leaving us
a beautiful moral, that beyond the differences we all have, we have to learn to tolerate, to know
how to love, and respect our differences. that there are people with more serious problems than
this. that everything has a solution in this life and a good agreement can be reached as long as it
finds disposition between both parts hat in these special dates, where there are family, friends
gathered until neighbors we must have a good relationship very cordial and sincere at all times,
share in what you can most, always act for good and leave aside all the bad and bad moments and
write new experiences the truth I support this idea and I think this moral and message that the
author leaves with this story, giving us a message of overcoming and see beyond any situation that
comes our way, that we have to think about others and help them in the possible this story should
be read by many people and also look beyond the political preferences can be to respect the
opinion of the other without being judged and have a good friend , I really enjoy the story
